Aloha, Part II

Hi, Everyone!
Grandma and Grandpa and I spent last Saturday getting ready for Uncle Steven and Aunt Kara to join us. Grandma made butterscotch scones for breakfast, then we went to the Saturday Farmers Market in Lihue. We got a ti leaf lei from the Heavenly Haku lady, and she showed me how she makes leis and head wreaths. Then we bought bread from Ursa-san at Midnight Bear Bakery and a low acid pineapple and some apple bananas. So we were all set when Uncle Steven and Aunt Kara’s plane arrived! Ground Hog Day

Hi, Everyone!
Guess what? I’m off on another adventure with Grandma and Grandpa! On Wednesday morning we got up very early to go to the airport. We flew to Chicago, then to Los Angeles, then to Lihue, Hawaii on the island of Kauai! We’ve flown so many miles in the past year that we got upgraded to first class seats for some of the flights. I like first class! Continue reading “Ground Hog Day”

Not What We Expected!

Hi, Everyone!
Aunt Kara gave Uncle Steven a label maker for Christmas, and look at the first label he made! I don’t think Aunt Kara needs a label to know where the baby is, now that the baby is kicking her. After Aunt Kara and Uncle Steven went back to Arlington, Grandma and Grandpa hosted their usual New Years Eve party. I got to stay up for dinner with my friends, and Joe-san helped me toast the New Year with sparkling grape juice. Continue reading “Not What We Expected!”

Getting Ready for Christmas

Hi, Everyone!
I’ve been helping Grandma and Grandpa get ready for Christmas! We had nice sunny weather last week, so we drove out to the Christmas tree farm to get our Christmas tree. After we picked one, the tree farmers ran it through a special machine to wrap string around the branches. When the tree is wrapped up that way, the branches stay nice even when the tree is loaded in a car. Continue reading “Getting Ready for Christmas”

A Very Long Thanksgiving

Hi, Everyone!
The day after shichi-go-san, Bill-kun and Karin-chan both had full days of school. So their mommy and daddy took Grandma and Grandpa and me sightseeing. First, we went to Kappabashi street. That’s where all the stores that sell supplies for restaurants are located. One store had a really big supply of cookie cutters. Continue reading “A Very Long Thanksgiving”

Shichi-Go-San!

Hi, Everyone!
Grandma and Grandpa brought me to Japan! Grandma says this is really my new home, because Bill-kun and Karin-chan live here now. The flight to Tokyo is very long! The sun was just coming up on Thursday when we left Rochester, but it was Friday evening when we finally got to the Tokyo airport. Bill-kun and Karin-chan’s daddy met us there and helped us take the train to our hotel. Continue reading “Shichi-Go-San!”
