It’s FINALLY spring here, for sure! We have a new fence to replace the old one that was falling down. I was a good helper and made sure the rails were put into the posts just right! Lots of my spring flower and shrub friends at Grandma and Grandpa’s house have started to bloom. Grandma and Grandpa took me out to Sodus a week ago, and we had a very pretty sunset. Yesterday was Easter, but today it’s snowing again! I don’t think that is a very nice April Fools trick for the weather to play on us!
We’ve just finished a very special week for Grandma and Grandpa’s church. Holy Week starts with Palm Sunday and ends with Easter. Grandma says Holy Week reminds us that love is more powerful than politics or even death. Continue reading “Holy Week”

In our last week in Bangkok, I was busy saying goodbye to my Thai friends, like my Chinese New Years dragon friend at Siam Paragon mall. On Saturday, after we got our suitcases packed, Grandma and Grandpa took me to the park down the street from the nursing dorm so I could play on the playground before we left. Hi, everyone!
Last weekend, my Thai friends took me to see two more places that have been the capitol of Thailand in the past: Ayutthaya and Lopburi. Ayutthaya was the capital of Thailand from about 1350 to 1750 A.D. The king moved south from Sukhothai to build a new city. I got my special traveling seat in the van again, so I could see everything while we were driving. Continue reading “Two More Capitals!”

Hi, everyone!
Last weekend Grandma and Grandpa and my Thai friends took me to visit Sukhothai. Sukhothai was the first capital of Thailand, before Ayutthaya or Thonburi or Bangkok. The Thai kings built Sukhothai about 800 years ago! There are lots of stone and brick ruins, but most of the walls and all the roofs are gone. Hi, everyone!
I’ve been learning a lot about Thai history! On the weekend before Grandpa came, Grandma and I and some of our Thai friends spent a day seeing some new museums in Bangkok. First, we went to the museum about King Prajadhipok (Rama VII). Rama VII had so many older brothers that he never expected to become king. He was king when Thailand wrote its first constitution.
