Hi, everyone!
Depending on who was in charge, Belgium and the Netherlands have been part of the same country or separate countries. Right now, they are separate countries, each with their own king, but they celebrate some of the same holidays. May 1 is Labor Day, and this year it was a four day holiday. If It’s Thursday, This Must Be Belgium
Hi, everyone!
It’s hard to keep track of where I am on this cruise! The Amadolce often sails at night, so I go to bed in one town and get up in another. Sometimes, when Grandma and Grandpa and I take a bus trip away from the ship, we come back to a different port from the one we left! Grandma helps me by reading me the ship’s schedule every day. Continue reading “If It’s Thursday, This Must Be Belgium”
Tulip Time!
Hi, everyone!
Remember when Grandma and Grandpa were going to take me on a trip to see the tulips, but the volcano got in the way? This time we actually got here! We’re in the Netherlands! Continue reading “Tulip Time!”
Finally Spring!
Hi, everyone!
The first week of April, one of my crocus friends finally bloomed! It is on the south side of Grandma and Grandpa’s house, so it’s always the first one I see.
A week ago Friday, Grandma and Grandpa took me out to Sodus for the first time since we got back from Hawaii. Continue reading “Finally Spring!”
Still Waiting for Spring!
Hi, everyone!
Even though it’s supposed to be spring already, it’s still been cold here! The Christmas cactus keeps having more blossoms, and they are really pretty! Outside, the apple trees are still asleep because all the nights have been below freezing! There have only been a few days above freezing, and Grandma got out on those days to finish pruning the trees. Continue reading “Still Waiting for Spring!”
Waiting for Spring
Hi, everyone!
When we got back from Hawaii, I thought it would be starting to get warmer. But instead we’ve had more cold weather! We even broke a record for the coldest temperature in March at -9 degrees F.! Grandma said we could try to make everybody feel warmer by serving food from Kauai at our travel dinner. Continue reading “Waiting for Spring”
James and More Rain!
Hi, everyone!
After Bill-kun and Karin-chan left, we had more rainy weather! Moose-san and I helped Joe-san make yummy orange French toast for breakfast and panna cotta to put away for dessert. Continue reading “James and More Rain!”
Rain and Snow, Oh No!
Hi, everyone!
After La Vache went home last week, Bill-kun and Karin-chan were supposed to come with their mommy and daddy on Sunday. But when we woke up Sunday morning, we got an e-mail that they wouldn’t be here until Tuesday! It was snowing in Tokyo, and that made the trains run slow, so they couldn’t get to the airport in time to catch their plane. Continue reading “Rain and Snow, Oh No!”
Aloha, La Vache!
Hi, everyone!
We had a week of unsettled weather, but that didn’t stop me from showing La Vache all my favorite places on Kauai!
On Monday, we had a very busy day! At noontime, we went to the Sunshine Market. La Vache and I waited right up front for the market master to open the market! Continue reading “Aloha, La Vache!”
Aloha from Kauai Again!
Hi, everyone!
Grandma and Grandpa told me to put on my aloha shirt, because we are going to Hawaii again! I got to see my ladybug friend at the Rochester airport before we got on our first flight. After our second flight, we were in Los Angeles, but we still had one more flight to go! It took all day, but we finally got to Kauai — exactly the same place we stayed two years ago! Continue reading “Aloha from Kauai Again!”
