Hi, everyone!
I’ve been busy helping Grandma with the Election Day Bake Sale at her church! We’ve been collecting baking supplies for almost a month! Grandma has a spreadsheet to figure out what amounts of ingredients to buy. In a presidential election year, those are especially large amounts! Continue reading “Baking!”

Pumpkins and Pies!
Hi, everyone!
Now the leaves are really starting to fall! I’ve been helping Grandma with her “to do” list of autumn tasks. The next thing on the list was getting all the carpets cleaned in Fairport! I helped Grandma and Grandpa move all the small furniture off the carpets in the living room, dining room, family room and master bedroom. We had a lot of chairs, lamps and end tables stored in all the other rooms! Continue reading “Pumpkins and Pies!”
Trees, Rails and Walls!
Hi, everyone!
Even though most of the leaves haven’t started turning color yet, there are definitely signs of fall now! The sun is setting so far south that it sets over land, even if we go to the lighthouse to watch. In the morning, the sunrise is really far south, too! Continue reading “Trees, Rails and Walls!”
Entering Fall!
Hi, everyone!
We’re finally starting to have some cooler weather! That gave Grandpa the chance to finish cleaning up the leftover lumber from redoing the back deck in Fairport. Most of the lumber had to be thrown away because it had rotten spots or other damage. Continue reading “Entering Fall!”
Harvest Time!
Hi, everyone!
I haven’t been doing any traveling recently, but I have friends who are. Look at all the postcards I got! Moose-san sent me a postcard from South Dakota, and Will-san sent me two postcards from England and one from France! Continue reading “Harvest Time!”
End of August Report
Hi, everyone!
It’s been very hot, but we have had a few days when it was cool enough for Grandma and Grandpa to work outside on projects. I helped Grandpa finish leveling the back deck in Fairport. I had to pull down on the board very hard to lever up the support beams! The baby rabbit came back to inspect our work on the deck, but it’s not a baby any more! At Sodus, Grandma scrubbed the deck and the stairs to the boathouse so that she could restain them. Continue reading “End of August Report”
The First Half of August!
Hi, everyone!
Since the cousins left, I’ve been helping Grandma and Grandpa catch up on things! The kitchen faucet in Fairport was leaking and couldn’t be repaired. Grandpa had to replace it. I made sure he put the hot and cold water handles in the proper places! Continue reading “The First Half of August!”
Goodbye July … and the Cousins!
Hi, everyone!
While James was at Peacemakers and Bill-kun and Karin-chan were at Allendale-Columbia Day Camp, Grandma and Thomas made another batch of party mix for his daddy. Of course, Thomas had to eat some to make sure it tasted OK! Uncle David gave Thomas a piano lesson. After Peacemakers, James showed me how he plays his drum set. Continue reading “Goodbye July … and the Cousins!”
James and Thomas … and Karin and Bill!
Hi, everyone!
James really likes boats — building them out of Legos and riding in them! The first Saturday after he got here, we went out to Sodus so he could take a ride in Grandpa’s boat. Both he and Thomas got a chance to drive the boat with Grandpa’s help. Grandma said they were the steering committee! The weather was nice, so we had lunch on the porch. Then Aunt Kara lined up all the Matchbox cars by color and James counted them all! Continue reading “James and Thomas … and Karin and Bill!”
James and Thomas!
Hi, everyone! Last week I was very busy getting ready for James and Thomas and their mommy to come visit! First, Grandpa and I finished putting the railing on the back deck in Fairport. It looks very nice! We had to get that done so we could pick up all the tools Grandpa was using in the family room. Grandma said it wasn’t a good idea to let Thomas play with drills and saw blades! Continue reading “James and Thomas!”
