Hi, everyone!
In our last week in Bangkok, I was busy saying goodbye to my Thai friends, like my Chinese New Years dragon friend at Siam Paragon mall. On Saturday, after we got our suitcases packed, Grandma and Grandpa took me to the park down the street from the nursing dorm so I could play on the playground before we left. The park is very pretty! Continue reading “We’re Back!!!”

Two More Capitals!
Hi, everyone!
Last weekend, my Thai friends took me to see two more places that have been the capitol of Thailand in the past: Ayutthaya and Lopburi. Ayutthaya was the capital of Thailand from about 1350 to 1750 A.D. The king moved south from Sukhothai to build a new city. I got my special traveling seat in the van again, so I could see everything while we were driving. Continue reading “Two More Capitals!”
Sukhothai
Hi, everyone!
Last weekend Grandma and Grandpa and my Thai friends took me to visit Sukhothai. Sukhothai was the first capital of Thailand, before Ayutthaya or Thonburi or Bangkok. The Thai kings built Sukhothai about 800 years ago! There are lots of stone and brick ruins, but most of the walls and all the roofs are gone. We visited three historical parks that are World Heritage sites. Continue reading “Sukhothai”
History Lessons … and Another New Year
Hi, everyone!
I’ve been learning a lot about Thai history! On the weekend before Grandpa came, Grandma and I and some of our Thai friends spent a day seeing some new museums in Bangkok. First, we went to the museum about King Prajadhipok (Rama VII). Rama VII had so many older brothers that he never expected to become king. He was king when Thailand wrote its first constitution. He was living in England when he decided he couldn’t be king any more. Continue reading “History Lessons … and Another New Year”
Party Time in Bangkok!
Hi everyone!
Grandma and I have been in Bangkok for more than a week! We are staying in the visiting faculty quarters at the nursing dorm. When we arrived, we got a malia, which is sort of like a Hawaiian lei. It was made with jasmine blossoms and smelled very sweet! There was fruit on our table, too! Grandma had to teach me which part of a mangosteen to eat. Continue reading “Party Time in Bangkok!”
Sunday and Apple Pie
Hi, everyone!
On Sunday, it was sunny but still cold at Bill-kun and Karin-chan’s house. The melting snow made everything muddy, so we stayed inside. First I played the Lego Star Wars video game with Bill-kun and Karin-chan and their daddy, then we watched a Strawberry Shortcake movie on the TV. Continue reading “Sunday and Apple Pie”
Another Adventure!
Hi, everyone!
Guess where I am? Grandma and I are taking another big trip!
We had to get to the airport really early in the morning, but I got a chance to see my luggage friends in the play area before we got on the plane. It was still dark when we got to the airport, but I got to see the sun and clouds on our first flight. Continue reading “Another Adventure!”
Happy New Year!
Hi, everyone!
Grandma let me stay up for New Year’s Eve! The power went out just after sunset, but we got it back in time for dinner with my buddies. It was hard to stay up ’til midnight, but Papa Dick-san and Grandma Sue-san helped me stay awake. Right at midnight, everybody had something to drink to celebrate. I was really tired afterward! Continue reading “Happy New Year!”
Snowy Christmas!
Hi, everyone!
I had a lot of fun getting ready for Christmas! On the Thursday before Christmas, Uncle Steven and Aunt Kara and James came! They got here just in time for supper, then Uncle Steven put the lights on my new tree friend. The branches opened out, just like I promised the tree when we got it and brought it home. I played with James, and I helped Grandpa and Uncle Steven put the lights on the tree. Continue reading “Snowy Christmas!”
Getting Ready for Christmas!
Hi, Everyone!
We still don’t have any snow on the ground, but I’m helping Grandma and Grandpa get ready for Christmas!
First, I helped Grandma make new Christmas stockings for Aunt Kara and James. Grandma made stockings for Uncle Bill and for Bill-kun and Karin-chan’s daddy and for Uncle Steven when Uncle Steven was a baby, just like James is now. Grandma couldn’t find exactly the same fabric to make new ones for Aunt Kara and James, but I made sure the decorations were just the same! Continue reading “Getting Ready for Christmas!”
