Hi, Everyone!
There’s been a lot going on here since Sunday! When I wrote last, the pianos were in the dining room and the carpet installers had put the new carpet in the living room, leaving the part that goes in the dining room in a roll where the rooms meet. On Monday, the movers came to pick up the pianos and carry them across that roll. The movers are very strong! Now the pianos are back in the living room where they belong and the dining room furniture is in the living room. I practiced unrolling the dining room carpet so I could help the carpet installers when they came on Tuesday.
When the carpet installers came, they also put new carpet in the family room. We had a big thunderstorm Monday night, but Tuesday was warm and dry again. That was lucky, because the family room furniture had to go out on the deck while the carpet installers were working. I was a good helper with the new family room carpet, too. Look at all the old carpet that the installers took out on Tuesday!
Grandma and Grandpa did more leaf raking on Monday and added to the big leaf pile in front. While they were raking, the leaves on the apple trees started to fall. Grandma was happy to see that, because it was a nice warm day for putting the Christmas lights on the apple trees. She was worried she wouldn’t get a chance to do that before it started snowing. I was a good helper again this year. We put up most of the lights, but Grandma said we had to wait to string the lights to the last tree until the leaf pile got picked up.
Guess what! While the painters and carpet installers were working inside on Tuesday, the leaf patrol came and picked up all the leaves! I was hoping to make friends with the leaf vacuum, but the town brought a leaf pusher and payloader, instead. They were parked in front of our house while the drivers emptied the big leaf truck, so I got to see how they worked without getting in the way.
It was such a busy day in Grandma and Grandpa’s house on Tuesday that the Painter-sans had to eat lunch in the hallway! They invited me to sit with them while the carpet installers put the new rug in the front bedroom. Doesn’t this room look nice now? Painting, carpeting, leaf raking, tree lighting! There was too much going on at once for a little lion, so I did some yoga to calm down.
Love,
Lion-san
