Hi, everyone!
Grandma and Grandpa and I spent the weekend in Prague, Czech Republic. It was a very long plane trip to get here! We left Friday at lunch time and didn’t get here until Saturday morning. After we got settled on Saturday, we took a walk to see the Charles bridge over the Vltava (Moldau) River. This bridge was built in 1370 to replace an even older bridge. The bridge has statues on it, and only people (and lions) can go on it. It’s a very pretty place.
Most of the streets and sidewalks in the Old Town of Prague are cobblestone, so it was really hard for me to walk around on them. Grandma helped out by carrying me in her backpack. There was rain on Sunday morning, so I had to hide in the backpack until the rain stopped. By then, we were on top of the hill with Prague Castle and I could see the Old Town down below.
There are lots of stores selling puppets and stacking dolls in the Old Town, so I made lots of wooden friends. Then I tried making friends with a statue that was missing a head and balanced things out by making friends with a statue that was only a head. The statue of Kafka was in the Jewish quarter and the statue of Lenin was in the Museum of Communism.
I was very tired after two days of walking around looking at old buildings with Grandma and Grandpa. Grandma says I missed a very nice sunset over the Prague castle because it was past my bedtime.
Love,
Lion-san
