Hi, Everyone!
Yesterday, I helped Grandma and Grandpa and Joe-san and Nancy-san entertain the Mt. Risenacle choir at a picnic. Grandma and Grandpa do this every year and this is my second year to help. I had lots of fun and made some new friends!
Everybody brings something to eat and I was in charge of making sure it was all yummy. I had to check out the appetizers when the party was starting. Then I helped with the cooking. I made sure there were enough buns for the hamburgers and watched the chicken to make sure it didn’t burn on the grill. Then I checked to make sure the lemon risotto Joe-san made was warm enough to serve. Everybody loved that and there were NO leftovers! Somebody had to make sure the desserts were tasty. It was a tough job, but I did that, too.
I wore my aloha shirt because I brought the two new books about my Hawaiian adventures to the party for the choir to read. I’ll post them after Bill-kun and Karin-chan get a chance to see them.
The choir picnic always ends with a cruise in Grandpa’s boat to see the sun set over Lake Ontario. The weather was perfect for going out on the lake and we saw a nice sunset with pretty colors reflected in the eastern sky.
Today, Grandma and Nancy-san and the Weetmans went out in their kayaks. Grandma and Nancy-san were planning to weed water chestnuts, so I stayed home. It would be hard to get mud from the roots off my paws! My best buddy Joe-san and Mr. Weetman and I sat on the porch and drank coffee and read the Sunday paper. Then we all had lunch on the porch.
Later, we’re all going to dinner in the boat and out to see another sunset. This has been a very nice weekend!
Love,
Lion-san
