Trees of the Season!

Hi, everyone!

On the day after Thanksgiving, we had some snow on the ground. There wasn’t enough to make driving a problem, so Grandma said it was a good time to go shopping for our Reverse Advent Calendar.

I told my pride that we would get one grocery item for the Perinton Food Shelf for each day in December. James’ lion and Katie’s lion wanted to get one item from each of us, so that’s what we did!

Grandma made a list where all the items we needed were shelved in the store. Most of them were on aisles 7,8,9 and 10! By the time we were ready to check out, our cart was very full! So was the trunk of the car, when we took everything home!

By Monday, December 1st, all the snow was gone! My pride helped me put the first grocery item in our Advent basket. Then our lawn crew came to finish clearing all the fallen leaves. That made the biggest leaf pile of the season in front of our house! The lawn crew was just in time, because there was snow on December 2nd! After the pride put our second item in the Advent basket, we watched the snow. Then we watched Grandpa plug the apple tree lights into the power to our street lamp. When it got dark, our apple tree lights came on for the first time this year. They were very pretty!

Last Friday, Grandma and Grandpa took me to Alan Franke tree farm to get our Christmas tree. My pride decided they wanted to stay home and stay warm! We found a nice tree right away! I watched Mr. Franke bale the tree so the branches wouldn’t break when we put it in the car.

On Saturday, it was time to decorate the church for the holidays. My pride decided they wanted to go along for that adventure! Grandma had to climb a tall stepladder to decorate the top of the sanctuary Christmas tree. She took me up for a look! While we were at church, we put our first week of Reverse Advent Calendar groceries in the collecting wagon. Then we waited with Grandpa while Grandma hung the garland around the gathering area.

Now it’s getting really cold! Most days this week won’t even get above freezing! This morning, it was 7 degrees F. when I got up! Even on a cloudy day, sitting inside looking out is nicer than being outside!

Love,

Lion-san
