Hi, everyone!
I’m in Virginia, visiting James and getting to know his new brother, Thomas! Thomas is really little — almost as small as me! When we first got here, he was asleep whenever he wasn’t hungry. Now, he’s beginning to open his eyes and stay awake so Monkey and I can play with him. He especially likes lying on his magic blanket and looking at everything around him, including Grandpa!
James and I are having fun together, too! James is very good at drawing shapes, and he likes to feed me snacks! He is a good helper with Thomas’ baby swing. He knows how to start it rocking and how to make the fish go around. He and his daddy play Rock Star together. James likes to play the drums!
On Tuesday evening, James and his mommy and Grandma took me to the school playground. After school, anybody in the neighborhood can play there. We had lots of fun! We had a race down the slide, and I won! Then I played on the climber. James caught me when I started to fall off! James is really strong and does pullups on the tops of the slides! When the sun went down and it was time to go home, James and I were hot and tired. We were glad we could get a ride home in the stroller!
James loves fruits and vegetables! On Thursday, he had a gigantic strawberry for breakfast! Then he played with the toy vegetables I brought him. He knows all the vegetable names! He had a snuggle with Grandma and Thomas. Thomas didn’t really want James’ carrot to eat! James’ Lion is wearing Big Boy Pants now!
Thomas and his mommy spent some time Thursday planning their day. Thomas decided he wanted to spend time on his magic blanket playing with me. He also did a lot of napping! His mommy wishes he would spend more time playing during the day and more time sleeping at night!
On Friday, James made sure I got up to have breakfast with him before he went to day care. James’ Lion told me that James’ favorite animal, Panda, was missing! So as soon as James left for day care with his daddy, James’ Lion and I formed a Panda posse! All James’ animals helped look! We found Panda hiding under the bookcase! We were all happy when Panda was back on the bed where he belonged!
Friday was James’ daddy’s birthday. Grandma and Grandpa and James’ mommy cooked a special dinner. Then James and I helped James’ daddy open his presents. There was one great big present that looked like cardboard wrapped in plastic. It turned out to be empty boxes! James’ family is moving soon, and James’ mommy got special boxes made that are just the right size for some of James’ daddy’s electronic equipment. James’ daddy has had to move that equipment seven times already, and the original boxes are worn out from so many moves! After the presents were opened, we had a coffee cheesecake that Grandma made, instead of birthday cake. It was yummy!
Love,
Lion-san
Happy grandma. Happy Lion-san. And especially happy grandpa. I love the picture of Bob and Thomas on the blanket. I can see that you are having a wonderful time… It even looks easy!

It looks like you are all having a great time with James and Thomas and their Mom and Dad. Moose-san tried to keep Nancy-san from going swimming in the lake but to no avail. We were unable to yesterday because it was cold out and rainning! It was fun seeing all your adventures with James and Thomas!
