Hi, everyone!
Grandma let me stay up for New Year’s Eve! The power went out just after sunset, but we got it back in time for dinner with my buddies. It was hard to stay up ’til midnight, but Papa Dick-san and Grandma Sue-san helped me stay awake. Right at midnight, everybody had something to drink to celebrate. I was really tired afterward!
On New Year’s Day, I helped Grandma take the decorations off my Christmas tree friend. First, we put some sheets under the tree to catch the needles that were falling. Then I helped Grandma roll up the tinsel garland that goes round and round the tree. After that, we started taking the ornaments off the tree. I made sure the ones James likes didn’t get lost! After the lights were off the tree, Grandpa took my tree friend back outside. It was a good thing we put down the sheets to catch the needles! I helped Grandma wrap up all the ornaments again and put them back in their boxes. We didn’t get done packing until the next day! By the time I helped close up the last box, I needed a nap!
On Friday, Grandma and Grandpa took me out to Sodus. We had to hike in because of the snow. It was very cold and the bay was mostly frozen over.
Last night, the Packer-san family came to put the Ground Hog Day cookies into their boxes. This year, we packed seven boxes full! Each kind of cookie had to be divided into seven lines, so every box got the same kinds of cookies. When the cookies were all packed, I matched up the boxes with the mailing labels and the customs forms. Cookie packing is hard work for a little lion and I needed another nap!
Love,
Lion-san
New Years Eve is fun! We had a good time too. We waited till last Wednesday to put the decorations away and boy did I need a nap after that! Instead we went to a hockey game and the Amerks lost. Moose -san and Moose were sad! Thursday we took the tree out to the back yard where it will provide a place for birds to hide.
