Hi, everyone!
After my big adventure with waterfalls and geothermal features in Akureyri, my cabin crew buddies gave me extra chocolate at bedtime. When we docked at Isafjordur the next day, Grandma and I decided we were all “toured out”!
I watched the harbor crew move shipping containers around. At tea time, Grandma ordered one last scone for me. I made a new friend who had never had one, so I shared mine with her! Then it was Big O points time. First, we turned in our art scavenger hunts. Grandma and Grandpa each had all the answers correct! On the last cruise, perfect scores were worth 40 Big O points. This cruise, they were only worth 20 points. That wasn’t enough to get Grandpa a new shirt in the right size, so we got socks, instead.

When MS Marina arrived in Reykjavik, we disembarked right away. Grandpa had hired a driver and car to drive us to Keflavik, so we wouldn’t miss our flight to Toronto. I saw icy Greenland when we flew over it. Right before we landed, I could see the Toronto Islands!

When we got home, both Grandma and Grandpa were sick! We didn’t have any adventures until a week later. That’s when we got back out to the bay. We watched sunset at the Point on Sunday evening. On Monday, I helped Grandma weed the herb garden, checked out the water level, and said hello to some of my flower friends. Later that week, we made an AWACs cheesecake for the freezer.

Last weekend, we got together with Uncle Steven’s family for the first time since we got back from our travels. We had waffles on the porch for breakfast at the bay, then I hung out with Thomas. After Uncle Steven’s family left, Grandma and Grandpa took me to the Point for sunset again.

Yesterday Grandma took me on a kayak paddle. The Sodus Bay association has restored a boat, the Rose Lummis, that used to do dinner cruises on Sodus Bay. Grandma told me Uncle Bill sometimes rode his jet ski in the wake behind it. The Rose Lummis is about to start doing educational cruises again, so we paddled up to the place we thought it might be moored. We were right! Grandma remembered the Rose Lummis being painted pink, but now it’s blue. I was the very first lion to be on board!

The Rose Lummis is docked very close to our favorite stand of rose mallows, so we paddled over for a look. The very first blossoms are open now, but there were lots of buds that will be blooming very soon!

Love,
Lion-san
