Hi, everyone!
My next advent-ure was the Saturday before Christmas. Grandma and Grandpa took me and Thomas and James and their mommy to Tuba Christmas. We went early, so we could sit in our favorite place in the balcony. James and Thomas got the wigglies, so we left before the concert was over. Then we had snacks and played with Matchbox cars at Grandma and Grandpa’s house.
On the Tuesday before Christmas, Grandma and Grandpa and I had our Christmas bread party. My friends La Vache and Moose-san and Tilly came! Tilly had never seen so many stollen before! Lots of my travel friends came, too. It was fun to see them!
Tilly and La Vache and Moose-san all liked the decorations on our Christmas tree. I gave Moose-san the present I got for him in Niagara Falls, Canada. It was a moose decoration for his Christmas tree, and he liked it a lot!
After Tilly and Moose-san went home from the party, La Vache helped me shape the last batch of stollen dough. Then we were good hosts for the last guests, making sure they all knew what kinds of soup they could have. We played Legos with Thomas, and my friend Deb-san played with us, too! Now that Thomas knows not to eat the little Legos, they can be out for everybody to play with!
La Vache got to stay over after the party. On Christmas Eve, we helped Grandma make a coffee cheesecake! We had to be careful not to get chocolate all over when we licked the spatula Grandma used to make a new batch of ganache! It’s fun to do cooking with La Vache, so we sat in the kitchen, waiting for the next project to help with. It was croissants! La Vache and I bashed the butter and rolled the folds into the dough. We make a good team! Because it was Christmas eve, we decided to visit the apple tree lights after it got dark.
On Christmas morning, Grandma and Grandpa and I went over to Grandma Ginny’s to open presents with James and Thomas. James showed me his favorite AWACS videos on the iPad, then he and Thomas opened a present with lots of toy construction vehicles. Bill-kun and Karin-chan sent James a special book where painting with water turns black and white pictures into colored ones! Uncle David and Aunt Emi sent Wammy plastic links for James and Thomas, but their daddy liked playing with them too! We all read the directions for all the ways to link them together!
James’ and Thomas’ cousins were coming to Grandma Ginny’s for Christmas dinner, so La Vache invited us to go to her Grandma’s house for dinner, instead. I got a chance to see La Vache’s tree and all the pretty decorations, and there were yummy cookies! La Vache introduced me to her friends, too. I made sure I was a very polite little lion and thanked La Vache’s grandpa for inviting us to the party.
James and Thomas had so many presents to open, that Grandma and Grandpa and I went back to Grandma Ginny’s the day after Christmas for more opening! Thomas was playing with a ball made out of the Wammy links, and his daddy showed me how to make one. James and Thomas opened their new books about me and their mommy read them one right away. Then Grandma made another Christmas dinner and we had a time for family photos. I’m glad Christmas lasted for two days!
Grandma Ginny had a big party for her family on the Sunday and Monday after Christmas, so James and Thomas stayed with us. Then they stayed over again on Wednesday. We all watched Charlotte’s Web together (La Vache liked the cows best) one evening. We finally got a little bit of snow, so James and Thomas played outside with Uncle David’s skateboard and the red sled. Then Thomas got rides inside in the laundry basket! La Vache and I watched James and Thomas play with Legos and the marble run, too!
After James and Thomas went back to Grandma Ginny’s on New Years Eve, we got ready for Grandma and Grandpa’s New Years Eve dinner. Moose-san and Tilly came, and we all got to see our travel friends. One of the guests brought fruit preserves as a New Years present for everybody else! We actually all stayed up until midnight to toast in the New Year!
Guess what? On New Years day, we had some more snow! James came over to play, and then we both needed a nap. It’s been a very busy holiday season!
Love,
Lion-san
Hi and Merry Christmas!
It was a busy Christmas season. Grandma’s flour jar must have gotten pretty empty. We were all glad that you made it to the Tuba Christmas. Tilly was really impressed with all the Stollen. Moose-san wanted his new ornament put right on the tree when we all got home. The days after that must have really flown by for all of you! Then New Years, oh my, it is time for a nap!
