Hi, everyone!
I’ve been spending more time with Thomas and James and James’ Lion! We’re all getting to know each other better! James’ Lion and I have breakfast with James every morning before he goes to day care.
Thomas and I play on the magic blanket while James is away, because that’s when it’s safe for Thomas to be on the floor. One day, Grandpa and I helped Thomas have “tummy time”. He liked it for a little while, and he was able to pick up his head and look from side to side. Thomas is a strong baby!
James is paying more attention to Thomas now. I am a good helper and remind him to be gentle! James is very good about sharing me with Thomas. James thinks Thomas needs blue bunny, too, in his rocker! That gets crowded! Sometimes, I’m in the middle of a brother hug!
Last weekend was very busy! On Saturday, we had sticky buns for breakfast, then we all went out for a nature adventure! We went to Long Branch nature center for a Trail Tales program. James let Thomas borrow his stroller, so Thomas could go, too! The program was all about bugs! There were bug books to read and bug crafts to do. First James made a rolly bug, then we all listened to the story lady read The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Then James made a butterfly bookmark with his mommy.
James’ Lion and I made friends with the story lady’s Raccoon, and we looked at bugs under the microscope. Then the story lady read another story just for us! Thomas slept through everything! After the bug program was over, we all took a walk along the creek in the nature center. It’s a very pretty place! Then we had a snack before we went home.
On Saturday afternoon, James and Grandma played in the back yard. James likes Grandma’s sunglasses! Thomas got fussy, so Grandma bounced him on the big red ball. I remember when Grandma did the same thing for James when he was a baby! James had made a guitar at day care for his daddy as a Fathers Day present. His mommy showed him how to hold it so he could play it.
Sunday was Fathers Day. On Sunday morning, James and his daddy and Grandma and Grandpa and I walked to the Air Force Memorial. When we arrived, there were lots of teenagers on a youth tour, but when they left, we were the only visitors. James enjoyed walking on all the raised curbs at the memorial. Grandma took a photo of James and us Lions with James’ daddy and grandpa in front of the part of the memorial that thanks military families for their sacrifices. I showed James’ Lion the missing flyer formation, then we looked across the river at the National Mall from the Air Force Memorial lawn.
When we got back from our walk, I told Thomas all about the Air Force Memorial. Then I showed James’ Lion how to play with Thomas on the magic blanket, because our visit was almost over. Sunday is when James usually talks to Grandma and Grandpa on Facetime, and he called Grandpa when they were sitting on the same sofa! Later, James and Thomas and their mommy and daddy all had some sofa time together. When we first came to visit, the freezer was so full that nobody could tell what was in it! James’ and Thomas’ daddy asked Grandma if she could use up that food to make lunches and dinners. Look how well Grandma did!
On Monday, I said goodbye to Thomas before we left. I hope I get to see James and Thomas again soon!
Love,
Lion-san
It looks like you really had a fun time with both James and Thomas. Hope you didn’t see too many yucky bugs at the Nature Center. Moose-san keeps trying to scare the June bugs that bounce on our window screens. Nancy-san keeps hoping the mosquitos and black flies that bite would go away! Hope you had a good trip back, see you soon.
