Here We Snow Again!

Hi, everyone!
Grandma’s Christmas cactus is getting prettier and prettier! Right now, it’s just blooming on one side, so we can see all the blossoms at once!

Monday was a school holiday, so the Packer-sans came over to pack the Ground Hog Day cookies. This year, the cookies going to military men and women at the Air Force Academy and in Okinawa, Turkey and Afghanistan. I made sure all the boxes and bags and tape and labels and packing peanuts were ready, so we could pack the cookies and get them back in the freezer before they defrosted. This year, we were really efficient! First, the Packer-sans taped the bottoms of the boxes and lined them with plastic bags. Then everybody helped divide each kind of cookie into seven rows — one for every box. I had to make sure Geoff-san didn’t eat any of the brownies! We got all the boxes packed in an hour! The Packer-sans are a terrific team! The post office was also closed Monday, so Grandma and Grandpa took the boxes to the post office on Tuesday. I hope everybody who gets Ground Hog Day cookies enjoys them!

It’s really cold outside again! This morning, when I woke up, the thermometer said -3 degrees F., but by the time Grandma took my picture, it had warmed up to zero! Now I know that when it’s that cold, the snow isn’t much fun to play with. So I stayed inside to look at it. Guess what? Grandpa set up a camera so I can look at the snow at Sodus, too!

The best part of the cold weather today is that my favorite sunbeam is back! I even got to stretch out and take a sun bath. Lions LOVE sun baths!

Love,
Lion-san

  1. Nancy-san says she wanted snow before the cold came to protect the sleeping flowers. When Joe-san woke us up early today our thermometer said 8 below but Nancy-san still said she would walk. Sometimes I wonder about her! Moose-san decided to just curl up under his feather. The sun did feel nice though. You did a good job helping the Packer-sans, especially keeping Geoff-san from eating those brownies!
