Hi, everyone!
Lots of nice things have been happening in May! The very first weekend, I made some more wildflower friends at Sodus. And Harlan-san came out to help Grandpa and me put in the dock. We got the dock and the marine railway put in before it was time for lunch!
A lot more of my flowering tree friends have started to bloom! I stopped to say hello to my magnolia friend down the street and the flowering crabapple in Grandma and Grandpa’s yard. Aren’t they pretty?
Then Grandma took me back to Highland Park to visit my lilac friends. On the way, we stopped to see the blossoms on the dogwood Professor Tree where Grandma works. Then we visited my tulip and redbud and magnolia friends in Highland Park on our way down the hill to the lilacs.
My lilac friends were just starting to bloom. They smell really nice! Some of them are very big and I had to climb into the branches to visit them. Some of them are so close to the ground I could sit down to visit them.
After I visited my lilac friends, I stopped to see some other flower friends at Highland Park. More of my pansy friends are in bloom, and I made friends with an early blooming azalea.
This week, Grandma and Grandpa took me to Arlington to visit Uncle Steven, Aunt Kara and James! James’ Grandma Ginny was there too! James took me for another crawl, but he is standing up more and more! Grandma Ginny made a video of James talking. When we watched the video, James talked back to himself! Then James and I played a game on Aunt Kara’s iPad with Grandpa.
James’ birthday is this week, so I helped Grandma make his birthday cake. Grandma says first birthday cakes should always be gooey chocolate! I was a good helper putting the frosting on the cake. James liked it a lot! After James had a bath and went to bed, the rest of us played Fishermen of Catan with Uncle Steven and Aunt Kara. There are a lot of rules to remember!
Love,
Lion-san
Lion-san, it was so good to hear from you!
All those pretty flower friends too!
We are glad James liked his gooey chocklate birthday cake and you were able to stay a safe distance away since there is no snow to take a bath in!
