Hi, everyone!
I spent most of last week at Sodus with Grandma and Grandpa, because Uncle Steven and Aunt Kara brought James to visit! I’d been waiting for him to visit, so I could give him my new book. When James got to Sodus, I gave the book to him right away! I hope he likes it! I think he likes Sodus, because he was happy when he could sit outside and look around.
On Sunday, baby Annie and her parents came out to visit. I was excited to finally get a chance to meet her! Annie knows how to roll over on her side, and she likes to cover her face with her hand when she sleeps, so I tried that too. When James woke up, he and Annie made friends right away. Then, while Annie took a nap, her parents and Grandma and Grandpa all played a game that Uncle Steven brought with him. It was very complicated! At dinner time, Annie and James and I hung out while everybody else ate on the porch.
Little babies make a lot of laundry! I helped Aunt Kara fold some of James’ clothes when they came out of the dryer. Then we all took a walk. James really likes to take walks! He likes his tabby blanket too. James is chewing everything he can get in his mouth right now!
Grandma told James that we were going to have more company, and James wondered who was coming. It was Joe-san and Nancy-san! James was happy to meet them! James showed everybody how he can dance baby hula when Aunt Kara supports him. I learned some new hula moves from him!
I was a good helper with the cooking all week. Joe-san and I tasted the Thai basil pesto to make sure it had enough walnuts in it, and then I checked how ripe the peaches were. When Grandma finished mixing the coffee cheesecake, I made sure it was ready for the oven. After the cheesecake was baked and chilled and covered with chocolate, I got to help serve it, too!
On Thursday night, we all took a ride in the boat to watch the sun set. James wanted to wear my life jacket, so I wore the one Uncle Steven used when he was a baby. James likes riding in the boat, even when it is going fast! There were waves on Lake Ontario, but James didn’t mind the boat rocking at all. It was a pretty sunset! On the trip back, James fell asleep!
James didn’t stay asleep, though. He woke up when we got back and wanted to eat! Then James went to bed, and we played Uncle Steven’s game again. It was way past my bedtime when I finally got to bed!
On Friday, James played on his mat while Uncle Steven and Aunt Kara went kayaking. James showed us how he can kick his toys with his feet, and then he rolled on his side! I guess he learned how from Annie! When it was time for James to go visit his other grandma, I said goodbye. I hope James comes to visit again soon!
Love,
Lion-san
