Lucky Me!

Hi, everyone!
Lots of good things have been happening to me lately!
First, I got to spend a lot of time at Sodus with Grandma and Grandpa, right while the azaleas and rhododendron were in full bloom. My azalea and rhododendron friends take turns blooming over about two weeks, and then the flowers are all gone. This year, I got to see them all in full bloom!

Grandma and Grandpa and I are lucky to have lots of friends who come when we need help. Harlan-san and Julie-san came out to Sodus to help Grandpa put the dock sections in the water. Now the dock is out and the kayaks are in the boat house. Thank you, Harlan-san and Julie-san!

When I needed a bath, Grandma helped me take one, then she dried me off with a hair dryer. That felt really good! After that, she rubbed my fur with a dryer sheet, so I’m nice and soft again! Then Grandma got a moose calendar in her mail at work and brought it home for me. I can’t wait to show it to Moose-san! Grandma bought some clothes for baby James, and I got to try on the smallest outfit. It’s only a little too big for me! I hope James can wear it! After all that, I found a patch of four leaf clovers! I picked two, but there are lots more! Grandma says four leaf clovers are lucky.

This weekend, I’ve been helping Grandma and Grandpa with jobs at Sodus. Grandpa had to repair a pump so we could use water in the house. Then I made sure Grandma planted the three kinds of basil in the proper places. All the different kinds of mint plant are growing into each other across from the basil in the garden. Grandma says we’ll just have to look for the right kind of mint leaf when we need one! I couldn’t help the mint stay in the right place, but I did help cut back the plants that were trying to grow inside the stairs to the boathouse. And some bird left an egg right in the middle of the dock! That’s not the right place for an egg, at all!
When we got our jobs done, we took the boat for a ride to make sure it was ready for the summer, too. Grandpa even let me drive! Then I got to ride the boat into the boathouse all by myself!

I am a very lucky little lion!
Love,
Lion-san

  1. Yes, you are lucky! We are lucky too because our stove got fixed and it wasn’t as expensive as I thought it would be!
