Hi, Everyone!
What a busy week! Last Wednesday, Grandma and Grandpa took me to the airport to welcome Bill-kun and Karin-chan. It was very cold out! I had to bundle up, and I brought hats and mittens that Nancy-san made for Bill-kun and Karin-chan to wear.On Thursday, Bill-kun and I played inside, then we went out to play in the snow. This is the first time Bill-kun and Karin-chan have seen snow, and they had lots of fun running around in it and taking sled rides in the back yard. The snow was too cold to make snowmen or snowballs. It wouldn’t stick together.!
Friday was a really busy day. My buddies Joe-san and Nancy-san met us at the Strong Museum. There are so many interesting things to do there! First, we rode on the carousel, then we looked at the aquarium and made a mobile. I played chess with Joe-san and helped Karin-chan get to Sesame Street and build with Legos. Then we all went to the video game exhibit. After that, we went to the wedding rehearsal and on to the rehearsal dinner. I got to meet Kara’s nieces and nephews there.
Saturday was Uncle Steve and Kara’s wedding. We all dressed up to go — even me. Doesn’t everybody look nice? Bill-kun was the ring bearer and did a good job carrying the rings to his daddy, who was the best man. I got to sit in the front pew with Grandma and Grandpa and Emi and Karin. After he carried the rings, Bill-kun came to sit with us, and so did Maddy Rose, the flower girl! The reception was lots of fun. Every table had pretty flowers and snowflakes, and every guest got a special hat to wear in cold weather. There was music and dancing and the desserts were really yummy! I saw my best buddies Joe-san and Nancy-san again. It was past my bedtime by the end of the reception and I got really tired.
On Sunday, Bill-kun and Karin-chan went sledding at a local park. Bill-kun was good at sliding down the big hill and went a long, long way! Grandpa said Bill-kun was a quick learner and just the right weight to go fast in the sled. It was really cold outside, so we all warmed up afterward by watching Dora the Explorer together. Monday was REALLY cold! It was sunny and comfortable inside, but 0 degrees F. outside. Grandpa and Bill-kun played with the electric train, and Bill-kun invented a new game: pushing a big marble around the track with the locomotive. It’s hard to keep the marble on the track around the curves!
When it was time for Bill-kun and Karin-chan to leave, I said goodbye to them and to Original Lion-san. But then, they had to stay another night because their plane was late. They had to get up very early the next day to take a different plane home.
Today, I looked out at the back yard and saw lots of tracks. This time, I know where those tracks came from. Bill-kun and Karin-chan made them!
Love,
Lion-san
