Hi, Everyone!
It is really beginning to look like winter here. We’ve had our first big snowstorm. My buddies Joe-san and Nancy-san came over for dinner on Sunday, and the snow was so heavy after they got here that they couldn’t drive home safely. So they had to stay overnight. In the morning, I was a good helper. I helped Grandma serve breakfast and then I helped Joe-san brush the snow off his car.
The snow kept falling, and it piled up so tall on the railing of the back deck at Grandma and Grandpa’s house that it curled over! Grandma helped me get dressed so I could go out and play in the snow. I had to dress up very warmly and wear a boot. Lions almost never have to wear boots! I helped Grandma shovel a path from the kitchen door to the snow cave under the picnic table. Grandma says that if the snow doesn’t melt, that will be a good place for Bill-kun and Karin-chan to play when they come to visit. I tried it out to make sure, and I think Grandma is right.
Then I helped Grandma shovel a path to the front door for big people. Look at the icicles that form when the sun melts snow off the roof!
Today, I wanted to go back out to play in the snow again, but Grandma said it was too cold for a little lion to be outside. The temperature is only 10 degrees F. So I’m staying warm inside and watching the snow fall. Do you suppose the snow will get even deeper? Grandma says that could happen by next week.
Love,
Lion-san
