Hi, Everyone!
Boy, have I been busy! The leaves around here have turned pretty colors, just like they were in Maine last month. Moose-san and I have been enjoying looking at them. This time of year, Grandma and Grandpa need to get everything out of the water at Sodus. I helped them haul the sailboat and clean it off. Then I took Moose-san to the pumpkin patch at the farm market.
Grandma started a big jigsaw puzzle that has pictures of famous places all over the world. I helped with the ones I’ve visited. First, I made the Eiffel Tower. Then, I found all the pieces for the Golden Gate Bridge. After that, I put together the Sydney Opera House. Grandma says I’m a very well-traveled lion!
Saturday, Taylor and Katie and Harlan and Danny came out to Sodus to help Grandpa take in the dock. I helped pull in the dock sections. The weeds were really yucky, and Taylor and Katie had to get in the cold water to pull them off the marine railway sections. I was a good helper, but Taylor and Katie were amazing helpers! I helped make nachos to thank them for their hard work. Grandpa says they got three days’ worth of work done in one!
Today, Grandma took me to church with her because it was apple pie day. I helped Joe-san make pie crust, then I peeled apples. Next, I helped Grandma and Averil-san and some other ladies roll out the pie crusts. It was hard work, so I took a rest with my old friends Joe-san and Mike-san. We made 158 pies in about three hours! Most of them went right into the freezer to be sold at the Election Day Bake Sale. Grandma already has most of the flour she needs for the cinnamon rolls and other goodies she’ll make for the sale. I guess baking those will be my next big adventure.
Love,
Lion-san
