Hi, everyone!
We’re starting to see some fall color in the leaves, but we’re not to full color yet! The end of September was the last trip we made to the Point to watch sunset.
We saw the harvest moon, too! The sun is setting over land, not Lake Ontario, and the setting time is earlier and earlier. Now it sets before we’ve even finished having dinner.

The beginning of October, Grandma got into a dessert making mood. I helped her make cinnamon ice cream base, sticky cookies, and an AWACs cheesecake all in one morning! The next day, we put ganache on the cheesecake and churned the ice cream mix. When the mix expands into the top of the ice cream machine, I know it’s done! Uncle Steven’s family had lots of dessert choices when they came for Sunday dinner!

Last Tuesday was sunny and not too cold, so Grandma took me and my pride to Powers Farm Market for our annual pumpkin patch visit. The hayride wagon wasn’t in use, so I got to play driver! Then we made a LOT of pumpkin friends! There were lots of varieties in addition to the big orange ones!

Of course we had to go into the teepee! It’s dark in there, but we made some jack-o-lantern friends. It was fun to visit, but nice to get back in the sunshine afterward!

Lots of people were feeding the farm animals, so we had to keep our distance! We didn’t want to be confused with food! We watched the alpacas and the turkeys and the donkey.

Yesterday, we got a head start on the long holiday weekend. Thomas only had a single early class at school, so he and Uncle Steven came out to the bay to start removing the dock for the winter. They had the marine railway taken apart before lunchtime! It’s a good thing they were done for the day, because we had an afternoon thunderstorm with a rainbow!

This morning, Aunt Kara came out to help get the dock sections out. She and Uncle Steven brought the kayaks upstairs for the winter. Grandma washed them and my pride helped get them dry! When we were done with that, Uncle Steven and Aunt Kara and Thomas were halfway through getting the dock sections out! Thomas had his fishing gear ready, but there was work for him before he could start fishing! Now the waterfront is ready for winter!

, After lunch, Thomas, Aunt Kara, Grandma and my pride went to Burnaps Farm Market to pick apples. Grandma wanted crispins for apple pie, and they were just ready to pick! We got some snapdragons and other kinds of apples to try, too! Thomas did some field taste-testing!

Burnaps has a pumpkin patch, too! Thomas was picking out a pumpkin while we were looking at the pumpkin on a stick plants. Aunt Kara always says that Thomas and James can each have the biggest pumpkin they can carry. Thomas found a big one this year! Once he got it to the car, my pride made sure it wasn’t going to roll around!

Love,

Fun!Lovely photos. The pumpkin farm is where you, Grandma, ought to take the grandsons in real life not just send them pictures! That place looks wonderful. I bought a warty covered pumpkin this year as I have done for the past several years. It is covered with bumps, sort of warts I call them. I wanted a small one to put on shelf outside our apartment door but couldn’t find one so got a medium size one. I is too large for the shelf so we put it on floor in corner under the shelf. Betsy
